The 12-18-year-old age group would be targeted, because both businesses would be able to benefit from these customers & consumers. Nike creates shoes for young children as well as adults; and JD sports sells their products to a range of people. Nike markets their newer and more fashionable trainers to the younger generation (teenagers) far more than they do to adults. This is because this age group is more likely to ask their parents for money so they can have the most fashionable items. Alternatively, the 19-40-year-old age group would be targeted because they have money meaning they can afford the products being sold. However, the products would be marketed to them differently as the types of products that are made available for them would be different because they do not have the same wants as the teenagers.
